Driftwood

I don't personally own any, but i've seen some that have a suction cup screwed into them. I'm sure you could find something to make a diy in the hardware store.

As for "preparing it" I'm unclear. Many times people will soak their bogwood for a long time to release tannins, but I'm not sure if this is needed for driftwood. Sorry I'm no help there.

Don't you mean soak the driftwood and not do anything to the bogwood?

Soaking it is a good idea as it can give the wood time to release it's tannins. I've also seen people screw a piece of slate or rock into the the wood, or at the base of it, and after a few months when it's sufficiently water logged, they will remove it.

Im going to pick up a peice today, so basically I should soak for how long? Is that all, or should I clean it also?

All I did was take my driftwood and burry the slate that was attached to it under the sand and place a couple pieces of slate on the front and back to hold it down at least until it can stay down by itself.
