my peacock has a lump where she poo`s from! it developed overnight... any ideas what it is? it looks like she hasnt digested some food correct and has it stuck in her bum

Any chance of pictures?

Is she eating, pooing, acting differently?

What have you been feeding her, any new additions to the tank, any aggression from the other fish?

And finally, what are your water stats (exact reading if possible)?

yes she is eating, she is pooing white stringy stuff, and for the last 2 weeks both female peacocks have been chasing each other around and now both peacocks have developed this lump. now i have to females with lumps

i have been feeding them a mix of flake, live black worms and orange pellets from Tetra!

and for my water stats all i know atm is the ph is 8.0, i don t have any test kit fluids left to perform any other test, though i realy think it wouldnt be my water quality as i do water changes every week, the only thing i can think of is i have added 2 new fish that are alot bigger then the rest of my fish and are haps not mbuna, they are CYRTOCARA MOORII - BLUE DOLPHIN.

i hope this info and pics can help!

Cheers
Damo

thanks alot anyway! lol i watched them lay the eggs and pick them back up into her mouth, so the eggs were causing the lump! do all africans go like this the day before they mate?

I've never seen my mbuna look like that before spawning. White stringy poo is a symptom of constipation, I'd suggest adding some spirulina or fresh veggies to their diet.
