This was my second and final attempt with this liverwort, and I am just going to stick to mosses from now on. I just ripped out 6 bulky lava rocks with this stuff on it, none of it growing particularly well before floating to the top. I tried the net and wrap method. Riccia just isn't for me. I don't mind the weekly trimmings, but all that work the no results is just not worth it. I never should have agreed to buy the bulky lava rocks with the riccia instead of flat rocks with moss, from the seller on aquabid, so noone to blame but myself. The tank looks good, but obviously now I need to grow in more of my dwarf hairgrass and sag, or it is going to look bare. I am also struuggling with rotala walachii, a plant that I have grown with good succes in a lower tech tank. I have no algae problems with the EI method, so at least I have that going for me. We just found out my wife is pregant, which will mean I am moving, and moving a plated tank, for the third time in 4 years...lol. Forget the discus quest in this one. I'll just focus on getting it to be as fully planted as possible, so I can enjoy it over the nest 6 months. I need to grow out the foreground and background plants, as the midground and front corners are the only areas that truly look great. If the hairgrasss doesn't come in better, I will just stop holding back the spreading of the sag.
