Folks,

I currently own two 2-foot/20-gallon tanks and am considering taking it to one. The conundrum I'm facing is which fishes do I keep and which ones to lose. Difficult. Funny, there was a time when I'd owned about eight tanks. Perhaps my hobby is on the wane.

Has anyone else gone through this process, and what happened when it was followed through. Are you a lot happier now you've down-scaled your hobby?

Would like to know.

:good:

I'm always looking to up-scale.

You just need something to re-kindle your interest??????????

I do that all the time. I get bored with them and shut them down... but I always end up bringing them back.
I have now started re arranging them instead of shutting them down most of the time. If it gets a whole new look I find myself wanting to keep it going. I do have several tanks not running right now though. I am trying to get stands and such so I can stack them. I have run out of room. The only option left is to go up the wall. (and I should be getting a 60g this month...) I have tanks everywhere.

I reduced the number of tanks when I moved house. Then after a while when the fish were doing great and I had hundreds of them, I lost the lot to TB. Now I just don't care about fish. I still have a few tanks running but they have corals in and I don't do very much work on them. Everything is on timers and I feed and water change them whenever.

I used to only have 2 tanks, now I have 5 and realised that thats as far as I'm willing to go. The only way I would downsize is if it meant substituting 2 or 3 of my smaller tanks and getting 1 larger one. Though with my current situation doing 80 litre water changes with buckets is no fun.
