Double Spawn!

My babies spawned yesterday! I'm really excited about the 2 pairs... I should get lots of good variety. Both pairs are siblings from my first spawn! The first pair is my boy Havok, he is a green marble OHM with super balanced fins; the girl is Kamala, a big solid turq with equally nice fins, I love her branching. The second pair is my boy Riot, he is a turq with a slight BF pattern and HM rosetail; the girl is a Yao, a green marble HM.

I expect lots of very pretty green/turq/blue HM's. There are plenty of eggs in both nests but definitely less than my prior spawn. Both of the girls are recovering with lots of food & TLC. Everything went so smoothly! At first, I had Havok with Yao and Riot with Kamala... until I realized within an hour that they were just not compitable couples. So I did a quick switch, and both pairs were spawning within 3 hours! Yao had way less eggs, but it looks like there's at least 20-30 in there. Havok is working his little butt off with all of his eggs. Unfortunately, I only got pics of Havok & Kamala, because they were in a glass tank while Riot is in a large tupperware. I will be combining the fry once they're getting nice and healthy, so it'll be easier for me =)

Here's Riot tending to his last batch of eggs (I studded him out to my friend Christine. Only a dozen or so babies survived, after a power outage when they were just a few weeks old, but they are GORGEOUS!)

I'm so proud! The eggs should be hatching any time now. Both boys are thoroughly rinsing & moving them non-stop. I will update when the little guys hatch.

The coppers are from my friend's (fishy_kisses) spawn. She just gave me 5 of her girls but I have no clue what to do with them. You're welcome to as many as you want!

Good luck with these, can't wait to see the results as they were so similar colours to my big spawn. I'm up to F3 now on them and getting all sorts of colours including orange and copper

Joby, orange & copper would be SO rad! ^^ My male has a lot bit of orange/rust, so I'm crossing my fingers.

They hatched! They're right on time, a little less than 36 hours. There are LOTS! Gawd these girls are eggy... I included a video of Daddy working his butt off, because the flash would not capture all of the bouncy little fry.

Daddy's out now... I probably could've left him in for a week or two, but I didn't want to chance it. They're darting around everywhere so I have no idea how many I have. I'm really excited to watch all of the babies grow up.

Is havoks back ok? In some pics he looked like he had a bent spine, but others not

=0) No, Havok does not have a bent spine. In the picture where he's picking up eggs, it might appear that way because he's swimming around frantically. And in one of the pics, he stunned himself so his body is kinda bent... he's perfectly healthy.

So far, I think Attison's Betta Starter is working!
