I've begun EI dosing on my ten gallon about 2 weeks ago now. My plants are really looking better and the algea is a little less rampant! hooray!

My question is, does it matter what time of day I dose? Also, should it be at the same time every day? I'm working part time and doing a part time internship, so I'm not really home at the same hours every day. For the past few days I've been dosing kind of at a random time during the day, when I think of it. It occured to me that this may not be a good thing.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Try to dose before lights come on or as close as possible, this way the nutrients are available for when photosynthesis kicks in. It is better to dose at the same time everyday, like it iss keeping the lights come on the same time everyday, your plants will prefer it and do better, it also means your plants wont be lacking any nutrients for that 6hrs more than 24hrs (30hrs) or you are dosing to much for that 6hrs less than yesterday.

if time is a problem you can get an automatic dosing machine (i am not very knowledgable on this) but i am sure i have read it somewhere on UKAPS

I have seen these mentioned too. I've even heard of people diy'ing them, but I think for now I'll try to get along without it. I've got some other projects for this tank that I'd like to do first. I'm hoping to build a cabinet for it sometime this summer....we'll see.
