I currently have a 260 litre planted tank with about 80% coverage.

I am using the Carbo Plus CO2 system and dosing Tropica Plant Nutrition Liquid.

I am running 108w of light over the tank which equates to 1.9 WP(UK)G or 1.6 WP(US)G.

I am dosing TPN once per week and have read on here that people dose every day or every other day which sounds better for obvious reasons.

My question is what is the best dosing schedule for my setup?

Also, should i use TPN or TPN+?

Also, i have another 108w of light available which, at the moment, i dont use because i had an algae outbreak which still hasn't cleared up. Should i be using 216W over my tank? If so, would i need to adjust CO2, dosing etc.

I know thats a lot of questions but i'm a bit confused.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers. :good:

Anyone help please? I'm kinda stuck! I'm quite new to the whole plants thing.

hey back to, check tropicas website they have a little graph telling you which of the additives you use, sorry I cant help better my memory packed up on me.
Also with that much light over such a big tank alot of people would recommend you go pressurised for co2 since its more stable.
more light = more co2 and nutrients you need to add

Cheers Garuf,

I have read that TPN+ is aimed for heavily planted tanks which are lightly stocked with fish, as it provides nitrogen and phosphate which fish waste would otherwise produce. Doesn't sound like my tank, so i'll stick with TPN.

Any ideas on what's the best dosing schedule for my current setup?
