Hi I read in the forum the over dosing with excel can help control some types of algae ,on the bottle it warns you of over dosing ,so what is a safe over dose? twice the required amount may be three times??? Also is it safe to overdose if your running pressurised CO2

If you want to kill BBA dose at the spot where the algae is. 2x times the normal dose is ok. But there may be a little risk.

Excel is excellent against staghorn and BBA. I dose at the triple dose rate at the first signs of either and it kills it. Lots of people have dosed at triple the rate with no obvious problems. I wouldn't want to do it long term though. I have heard people dose 5x the rate, not that I would but I guess that means you could.
