Dominant Female?

Is it possible for a tank to have a dominant female instead of dominant male, i have a tank with both male a female mbuna cichlids and i believe my female auratus to be dominant over all the others she is the biggest in the tank but not by far, is this possible?

Definately possible, the dominant mbuna will basically be the most aggressive, regardless of whether they are male or female. Auratus are very aggressive and i am not surprised your female is the dominant cichlid in your tank.
