I've had one before.

Fugly little guys.

Super friendly, will eat anything you feed it... Can't remember much about it though... if you want plants they'll most likely uproot them, they dig a lot so a sandy substrate is ideal, grows fast, lots of personality... Great fish

Cool.

I Once had a sand substrate in my 55 gallon but the chiclds were so active they kept sturing up the sand and kept getting it stuck in the filter so that was the end of sand.

I no longer keep live plants for my oscar ate them and it seems the catfish uproot them faster than you can...fishy...

And Thanks for that Link Ryan, and Thanks for All The Info

I used to own 2 of them, they got to be around 6 inches. They loved to burrow in very fine gravel(or sand would work too) and mine LOVED eating Wardleys' Brine shrimp pellets. Temperature should not exceed 75 F IMO. The cooler, the better I would say.
Here's one of them :

Now i aint sure, but i think i used to have a fish like that, but that was when i was cold water fish keeping, i had two Alantic goldfish and a fish that looked just like those, but it was in cold water...

The one thing i loved about the fish was when it came to feeding it, it came right to the surface, and all you heard was the rapid opening and closing of its mouth as it ate the goldfish flakes, and when you stuck your finger in the water, it would suck onto your finger, and it would tiggle like hell, and to top it, as it sucked your finger, it climbed up out of the water... Now sadly i lost the fish in the saddest of ways, i had a simple 12 x 8 x 8 goldfish tank with the three of them in, but no hood, somehow it sucked its way up and out of the tank and down behind the shelves i put the tank on, it was a whole day til i noticed a rotten smell in my room and the fish had gone... i gave my favorite fish a grave in my back garden
