This has always confused me, because it just doesnt really make sense. I was told first take out the water that needed to be changed, then add water conditioner (enough to equal the whole volume of the tank) and then add the tap water. But even with the conditioner in there prior to the tap water being added couldnt the tap just getting in there after get into one of your filter intakes and get in there and kill all your bacteria? I don't know it just seems like it to me? AM i doing changes right?

Water conditioners work instantly. By using it before you fill the tank there's no time for the chlorine to do any harm.

Looks that way. I only add enough for the water changed, but I don't see how more would hurt.

I always add the conditioner to the tap water before I add it back to the tank - this seemed logical to me - 'neutralise' the chlorine in the tap water before you put it in your tank - I can't see the advantage of adding it to the tank water then adding tap water to the tank - am I missing something ? -

a\s i fill straight from the hose i just pour it in in the flow then it will get distributed evenely thorughout the tank.

I'm not worried about this and there's some very sensitve fish in my tank.

when i add buckets of hot water i add a few drops to the bucket though.
