Doesnt make any sense

Okay i want balas so could i get 3 of them, are they hardy or clown loaches?

Okay so i scewed up the cycle by changing 75% of the water? But if thats so i dont see why my nitrites would go from .5 to 2 because of taking out water.
Um Neither of the fish u mentioned are HArdy so Pick a new fish you might like. Something along the lines Of Danios, Livebearers.

When u change the water u take out all the benficial bacteria so U have nothing to decompose nitrite. Therefore Yur Nitrite would go up. U also prbly Have Nitrite in yur tap water. Run a test on a cup o fTap water to see.

Nope my tap water reads 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia, and 0 nitrate. Okay well how many danios are enough to cycle a 125g tank?

yeah that makes sense. You have lots of Bacteria changing Ammonia to Nitrite because u have high ammonia and yur Water change Took out a lot of the Nitrite changing bacteria. When yur ammonia goes down yur Nitrite will go up and then down. I dont think this should be a big problem.

I havent been around this site long, but no one talks about cycling with bio spira. this product is amazing. If you don't want to wait for the fishless cycle, start over with Bio Spira. I successfuly cycled two tank almost "instantaneously" with this stuff.

First of all - the beneficial bacteria do NOT live in the water! The only thing water changes do to hinder a cycle is remove ammonia (which the bacteria feed on obviously). With your ammonia levels at 4-5 ppm, I suggest you just wait. Be patient and don't add any more ammonia until it becomes obvious to you that the ammonia is decreasing. I have no idea how your nitrItes could have gone up after a water change if there are none in your tap. I think you may want to buy a new test kit (a liquid-based one's best) and get some filter media from an established tank to add to yours. Deffinately DON'T add fish! And deffinately not balas or clown loaches.

not if u r constantly adding ammonia. The nitrites will only spike after the Ammonia is down or almost all the way down.

Yea but i didnt add ammonia for 3 weeks when it was at 5.0 and it never went down

for some reason i dont think bacteria wants to build in my tank, i even put gravel i got from petco in my filter for some bacteria
