Does Your Local Fish Store Have One Of These?

well, you can see some bricks in the picture underneath the tank.... and also some boxes.... anyone good at estimates? hahaha

yeah do so - i may have to go this weekend just to see how big it is cos i just remember he was massive - gotta check it out now

My LFS has about 30 red belly'd pirahanas! They are about 35-40cm long each! . The tank has a skeleton in it and i must admit, it looks realy good! :snap:

Can I ask which shop that is?

Sounds cool :good:

Hi mate, its Maidenhead Aquatics @ Wembly. They also got a lot more other tanks with weird fish in them. BTW they feed them on wednesdays around midday well they did when i went once. Exciting to watch how thy rip out and eat their food!

Yup Giant Gourami's, had 2 for about 10 years.. grumpy old things. Just recently lost both within about a month of each other.

Yikes! I wouldn't want that in my house. But I do like the act that there are so many species to chose from when you peruse the stock at the LFS. I just can't imagine having anything that big.

Largest growing fish i think i've ever seen for sale was a giraffe catfish, was about 12inches long but that really is baby sized for a giraffe catfish (i think they grow to 3-4ft long). Also seen Red tailed catfish for sale at the same lfs, although no specimens over a 1ft long yet though.

Wharf aquatics had a giant gourami in there massive display tank last time i checked, it was up for sale though so i dunno if its still there, they had a huge arowana and RTC for sale as well.

Woooow, what a gourami. Thats a real stunner, shame about the tank though. Its a bit bland for such a cool fish.

cheesy feet - you were right about that fish at Sedgley Road Aquatics - I went today and had a quick look at him (very busy place) and he measured about 2 feet - he's enormous

Ours has a giant gourami the size of a dinner plate. I feel real sorry for him. He is in the same aquarium shop as a giant murry cod that is stuck in a tiny tank and cant turn around. I cant look at either of them because I get to upset. But gee the gouramis grow huge.
