I am currently adding 4.5 tablespoons of ammonia to my 125 gallon tank everyday for my fishless cycle. I was just checking if this sounds about right or am i over loading it?
add enough to bring the reading on your test kit up to approx 5ppm. Since there is already ammonia present in the tank now then it may be easier to add drops to a seperate bowl of water (say a litre or two for easy calculation) and see how much it takes in there, and multiply according to the size of your tank.
What daza said is good, use your test kits to hit somewhere between 2 - 5 ppm. If you test your tank now and the ppm is above 8 or more, you probably want to do a water change and cut it down -- too high of ammonia will hinder the growth of the bacteria. HInder but not stop, so you could always just be patient -- a good trait for keeping fish successfully.
