i am soon going to get a 60l tank 60x35x30cm here is what im thinking of putting in it
1male betta
3cherry barbs
3ruby barbs
6 tetras
a few algae eater/ waste eater
the filter will be an internal elite.
:good:

i relly wouldnt put a betta in there cos barbs are soooo nippy, i've known people who have put a betta in with barbs and within 5 mins the betta has no fins left. Also tetras can be rather nippy, regardless of what type, however any bottom dweller should be fine. If you want small fish mountain minnows should be ok.
Hope it helps :)

I agree, a betta would be a bad idea in this grouping. Well, in almost any grouping actually.

Yeah dont get the betta especially with tiger barbs which are very fin nippers.

dont get any betta with tiger barbs it will have no fins within a matter of 4 hours and what kind of tetras are you thinking about ????:)

im not thinking of tiger barbs more of ruby and cherry maybe 5 banded barbs instead of the ruby, but cardinals becasue they are quite hardy and they can start the tank off

Cardinals are hardier than Neons, but they still shouldn't be the first additions to a tank. Let the cycle finish, then add the Cardinals about 5-6 weeks later; they need a matured tank. When you say ''start the tank off'' do you mean you're going to cycle with fish?. Have you read the thread on fishless cycling and the nitrogen cycle?. If you haven't, please do.

i would add them after the cycle as the 1st fish in then add the betta and after a while the barbs
