Does This Look Okay (diy Skimmer)

There is only one way to find out if it is any good, buy it. Looks good on paper and on screen, but looks can be deceptive. Would deffinately work, but how well is another question.... :good:

Well I got the skimmer (well I won it last night) I plan on running a snapper pump on it and use a ball valve to tune down the water flow *if necessary*

I am going to drill a hole in my sump for the return off the skimmer. (tank is already drilled for two external pumps. One for the skimmer and one for the return to the main tank. I am going to have it return over my macro-algae to help with more water flow over it.

the skimmer will be plumbed outside of my 75 gallon sump.

230 bucks. Now I just need to figure it out. came with no instructions. I understand on the right is the inlet from the pump. the left coming out of the black box is the return to the sump.

no idea what the white valve with the blue switch is?

any ideas?

Ummm, usually the outlet with the valve on it is the discharge of the skimmer, so in this case that valve on the left is the discharge. The pump should be connected to the barbed fitting, and the blue valve is used I THINK to control airflow into the injector.

that is what I was thinking. if I hook up an external pump to it (say a gen x 40 or bigger) then do I just use an air pump to air into the injector??

Hummm, I'm not entirely sure how beckett skimmer's injection works. You may not need an air pump at all, similar to a venturi. You can always try it and get the air pump if you feel you need it :)
