Does my tank really need a picture background, my tank isn't in direct sunlight you can't walk round all 4 sides and I prefer the look you see in the display tanks you see in the stores. Is it required?? Or is it pure and simple just to look nice?!

Not required at all, just all down to personal choice. Some backgrounds enhance the colours of fish/plants rocks a lot more etc.. :good:

Many of the fish we keep prefer some kind of background, as in the wild they tend to hug the river banks rather than swim in the open water, but you don't have to have one, and you certainly don't need a picture one.

I use plain black on my tanks.

some people think a dark background make your fish a more comfortable too. not sure if there is any truth behind that though.

Completly down to personal choice I rather having 1 but its up to if u do decide to get 1 pick 1 that fits in with ur tank I've got plants and rocks on mine to match the plants I've got and the rocks I'm getting soon
