Does My Birchir Have Parasites?

My birchir has been trying to bury its self for a few days now and I caught it today swimming in the water very still and it had what looked like lots of small tiny strands coming out of its body maily down its back does anyone know what this could be and what to treat with???

The stands are you sure there parasites and don't look like strings of cotton.
Do the strands have a forked tail.
Water stats would be good in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph.

Yeah all prams are good the like strands of hair greyish white very small all over him any ideas???

So they definately don't look like worms.

well yeah they kind look like worms there a couple of mm each there is a lot of them im not sure to be honest never seen anything like it

No forked tail then.
Get a magifying glass to take a closer look.
Any pierce marks or sores on the fish.

the tank is 5x2x2 cant really ask him to stay still he is under the wood at the min and I do not have a magnifine glass what would the worms be called ill google them and see if thats them.

nah its not them there quiet thick these are very fine like a hair on your head?

If the fish isn't flicking and rubbing then, I would use the meds stated further up.

yeah it rubs on the sand and trys to bury its self or just lays there its very stressed

Could be anchor worm they can be hair like.
Don't buy that anti crustaceon med by interpet it wipes the bacteria colony out in your filter, but that up to you jsut warning you.
Will find some info on anchor worm.
