Does Anyone Leave Their Tanks Lights On 24/7?

It depends how hot they get really. I would suggest its probably not best for the fish as I suspect they'd need some "down time" too. I suspect its less stressfull with the lights off.

You also have to consider the potential algae build up. Plants don't utilise light 24/7, they need a rest too.

Any reason you want to leave it on 24/7?

NO....Mine are on timers.
I expect not unless there is an extraordinary amount of heat given off from either the tubes or ballasts.
Fish will need to rest at some point and plants will need to go through their process of Photosynthesis.
Therefore in that respect it's not a good idea to leave them on 24/7
Increased running costs and shorter equipment life will result.

Actually, I would think it is dangerous to the fish to have them on 24/7. Fish actually would prefer that the lights not be on. They need down time too. As a general rule, your fish would be fine with nothing but the ambient light during the day. Besides any problems for the fish. buring your lights too long is a sure-fire way to get an algae problem, especially blue-green algae.

how about just getting a heater for the betta tank or is it one of those tiny betta "tanks"?
