My oscars & my claris love the telly, mind you the other day Jaws was on and they soon scarpered to the far end of the tank looking rather nervous!!! this is the honest truth. you may laugh but some of you must have had similar experiences. :hyper: B) :)

there was a previous thread about this... there was a formal study done about it. ill see if i can find the link for you

There isn't a television in my room, but I think my fish look out my window and watch the neighbors building their new house.

nosey little fellas aren't they .

I catch my my fish checking out the tube , not sure if they can actually see what I see [ tanks about 15 feet from the t.v. ] or just notice fluctuations in brightness and the contrasts .

I doubt my bettas pay any attention to the t.v. as it's across the room from them, but they pay attention to anything going on close to them. Nosy little guys

When I sit down on my computer (right by my tanks) all of my fish come and sit there starring at me. They look really curious and eager to catch a glimpse of what I'm doing! They also know when I'm walking towards them to feed them because they all come to the top of the aquarium!

My angelfish use to, god bless the little guy in the sky....none of these guys watch tv - but DANG my cat watches them like they're her favourite show running 24/7......something tells me she'd really like to eat the actors too....not nice of my baby!!

hi there,
well if you're mad i must be too. i posted on here a while ago about our tiger & green tiger barbs all gathering to the corner of the tank to face the tv( best poss viewing position) esp when we had films on. we also have a green tiger whos always there for major sporting events too!!!! (football - man utd). :D :D :D
they must get a little p*** off though as i have a huge leafy pot plant parked in that corner too & it must obscure the view a little. :p

My oscar is the only fish I have that does this. No one can tell me that he can't see well. He will charge the side of the tank the TV is on if he doesn't like what he sees. If I go over to the tank and talk to my oscar (Rebel) he will get a rock in his mouth and grind it in his teeth. I really think he is trying to communicate! AND NO I AM NOT NUTS! :grr:  He will just sit there staring at me grinding his rock while I am talking to him. (For the record, I talk to all my pets except one of my tarantulas. He doesn't like my voice and will jump at me if I talk to him. He is the only tarantula that I won't handle. Mean little bugger!!)
what's his favorate show ?

my fish can't see the t.v, but they seem to like looking at us eating at the dining room table

My fish dont watch TV. My dog does. He prefers National Geographic Explorer, basketball, and most programs on "Animal Planet".
