I’m planning to raise Sulaweshi shrimp in about 1 or 2 gallon with soil, Temp-28•, ph-8.0. Can i have more information to raise them or matters that require attention?

Thank you:oops: I got a great information of it:wub:

I think it's better to have at least a 10 gallons tank for keeping shrimps. The bigger the tank, the better.
I think a 20 gallons tank will be better.

Take note of a few important things:
1)You need to acclimatize the shrimps slowly when you put them into your tank. Sudden change of water temperature or water parameter may kill them.

2)Becareful of the soil that you used as some soil may kill them or create ammonia. Do not anyhow stir the soil during cleaning and water change as it may kill the shrimps.

3)You can use sand but rinse them many times/properly before use.

4)Java moss is good for the shrimps. Keep more plants and hiding places.

5)Make sure your tank is fully cycled with small fish before adding the shrimps into your tank. I think it's better to wait for at least 1 month(rough estimation) after setting up your aquarium before adding the shrimps.

Here are more guides about shrimps keeping:

Sorry that I edited my post again.
I wrote it based on my past experience but sometimes our past experience may not be accurate if we make wrong assumptions/conclusions.

I think it's better that you watch these videos.
Take note of the water parameter requirements.

Ohhhh Absolutly Thanks:thumbs: I saw your re.and heard you raised them! Want did you feed??

Actually shrimps are not picky eaters as most of them are scavengers. They will eat almost anything including your fish food.

I used to feed them with shrimps pellets. I think they are better as they have more balance diets for the shrimps compare to just any fish food.

Anyway, I didn't do much research into food for the shrimps. So, I can't really comment.
The "wild" Sulawesi shrimps may not necessarily eat the pellets if you watch the videos above.
Farm bred shrimps will be better and easier to adapt to aquarium.
They may need other shrimps like Cherry shrimps to show them how to eat the pellets.
As the videos suggested, it's good to have some other shrimps that have adapted well in aquarium around to introduce them to pellets.
It's like having an experience guy to teach the newbies.

Actually after watching the videos, I feel like keeping shrimps again...
But it's more difficult to keep them than keeping fish.
