...any rescue sites in the UK, anywhere in the Essex area, that have hamsters/guinea pigs/rabbits/etc available for rehoming/adoption? Its for something I need to research!

Dogpages.org has 'ads' up for the adoption of animals all over the UK. While it's mainly focussed on dogs and cats, they do 'other animals' as well and is definatly worth checking out. Their site can be found here: DogPages Forum

I'm certain there will be a local RSPCA around as well, and I know the one here does small furry animals as well .. so they're worth checking out. Not sure which RSPCA would be nearest to you, so you might have to google. RSPCA Essex comes up with several RSPCAs around/in Essex.
