I guess I'm coming up on week 7 of cycling of a 10g tank... PH is high (8.3), Ammonia has gone down to almost none and Nitrate has recently spiked (actual readings are at home). Nitrates are barely registering but they are there.

I added two real plants a few weeks ago.

Just recently, I have noticed some weird stuff. First of all, my white gravel is turning a light shade of green. When it started, I figured it was algae starting to grow so I didn't think anything of it. Then --> one of my orange artificial plants started turning a strange color of green. It's very bright. The best way to describe it is abouyt 1/4 of my orange plant looks like it was green to start with. It doesn't look like algae. I'll take a picture tonight and get up to date readings.

Just wanted to see if anyone has experience with this.

Very possibly, now your producing natrate, algae has all it needs to grow.
