the obvious is, is there a window near your tank, where the plants get some exposure to outside light, and the hours of day light???

but the bulk of my tanks are in my basement, with no window light, and certainly not all of them, but some seem to grow in spurts around the seasons…

next there are a few tanks scattered around, that are far enough from windows, that they get no direct light from them, 2 of those are in my unheated entryway, and they may note hours of extended room light coming from the windows, though I don’t adjust any of the tank lights… the terrestrial plants growing out of the aquarium would notice increased room temperature as it warms outside, and the humidity increases…

then there is my nano tank, that is mack in the center of a big corner window… hair algae ( fortunately ) is my biggest battle in that tank, and I had to remove the vines I rooted in it, as they were taking over… there remains a stalk of lucky bamboo, growing towards the ceiling, that I zip tie the air line, and heater cord to…

admittedly I don’t see much change of seasons, with my fully aquatic plants, but my terrestrial plants growing out of my tanks, in the basement are starting to grow more rapidly, even with no outside light at all… perhaps the few degrees warmer, and increased humidity triggers this???

anyway just curious if any of you notice a change in your plants as the seasons change???

You know, I think they might. All my anubias nana petite have a lot of new growth after pretty much doing nothing at all for the past year, and I have crypt parva that actually sent out a runner! It's growing under conditions the so-called experts say it shouldn't do well in so I'm thrilled!

Absolutely, with temperate zone plants.

In a few weeks, I can hop in my kayak and collect a number of plants. Hornwort and Ludwigia will die in the Fall, no matter what. Vallisneria will live forever if I get them before midsummer. If I collect them in August, or even July, they'll die back before October. I have some collected in June 2018 still thriving.

But if the plants come from close to the equator, I see no changes.

My Enchinodorus bleheri does... New stems that protrude above the water develop new flowers and new grafts
