Was looking in pets at home yesterday and does any one have any opinions on the clear seal tanks they sell. The dimensions are 48" x 18" x 12". Has glass braces and on the bottom and looks like 5-6mm glass. Do you thing the tank is big enough front to back 12" and is the glass thick enough for its size. All comments welcome. Thanks
Jon

clearseal have been making tanks for years and generally people find them okay -not heard horror reports about the manufacturer

I bought one of these tanks in the past (the manufacture's name was "Peak Aquatics" from Derby) and once I'd got the tank home, I noticed a crack in the bottom, so naturally had to replace it. Pet's at home refunded it no problem, and when ringing around, I discovered that "World of Water" would pricematch the previous tank, and replace it with a better brand (Clearseal).

It was a bit of hassle but the tank was great in the end!

thats good to hear. Do you think its of adequite size though. It seems slightly out of proportion being only 12" front to back, that could be because its next to a juwel tank though and they are a fair size anyway

bottom line is what fish are you planing? if it's neons then great if your into big fish then they will find it cramped

just went down to have a look and it was peak aquatics not clear seal.must have seen it in another shop :(
If i got a fluval 1200 could i silicone a few glass supports for lights to go on at the top of the tank or would they not hold up too well?
