Do You Skip A Day When Feeding Your Fish?

Do you have a fast day where you do not feed your fish?

I'm just sitting here looking at my fish, feeling like they are begging for food because today is their "fast" day - to make sure their systems get a good clear out and I was wondering if this is something that the rest of you do :) (so I don't feel like such a bad-guy)

mine get fed everyday, twice a day. I like to mix it up with frozen foods and dried tubiflex, algae wafers etc so they are getting something different and hopefully the vitamins etc that they need aswell.

My 3 young platies have got fat bellies but I'm guessing that's cos they are still growing (only 4 months old).

I try not to over feed - they never leave anything behind so I just hope I'm getting the amount right!

I tend to feed every day, usually flakes & wafers for the corys, with a treat of bloodworm or daphnia once a week

I prefere not have a pattern as they would not have in the wild so i feed them as an when, maybe monday morning skip 2 days feed real heavy in the eve skip 3 days feed in the morning etc

I feed a pea on my "skip" day. Cleans them out and they don't have to go hungry. Win/win. :)

I haunted all your threads.

Stalker alert

Famine day is Tuesday, with the exception of fry tanks, that get one feed.

I feed my fish 2 or 3 times a day because they're always hungry (Mollies...

). Why do some people skip? Is it good?

It's just to make sure they get all the poop out of their system really so they don't get blocked up or as FishBlast would say, stuffed up ;)
