Do You Pull Brown Leaves Off Sword Plants?

When the leaves go brown on sword plants what do you do with them: leave them or pull them off?

Remove them by cutting the stem as close to the bottom as possible w/o damaging the crown.

If all of it is brown, yes. If only the tip or a certain area of the leaf is brown, no.
