I've been doing this lately. Since I get bored waiting on them to thaw, I just use a small glass dish (used for this only), put some filtered water in, add the worms, stick it in the microwave and cook them for 10-15 seconds. It warms the water and worms up quickly. The fish seem to love them and they more freely spread apart and disperse in the tank.

Has anyone else tried this before?

nope, i never have problems with my worms defrosting. they usually defrost within 1 minute if i stir them. when i first saw nuke, i thought you mean yeah.......

My freezer acts more like a deep freeze for some reason. I use the flat packs now so maybe that has something to do with it. The blister packs I used to use weren't so bad freezing solid.

I just let them defrost for an hour or so and chuck them in. Most people (even the more experienced hobbyists) just chuck 'em in frozen with no ill effects towards fish and other livestock.

Your "nuking" method is perfectly suitable. This is how people blanch vegetables for fish, so I dont see why just defrosting (not cooking) them in a microwave would be of any harm. I might give it a go when I get impatient one day.

I just drop the frozen block into one of those plastic work feeder cones in the tank for a few minutes..

Mine sits in front of the outlet to my internal filter, so as they defrost, the current carries them out of the feeder into the tank - if it releases them too slow - a bit of a gentle shake helps them along.

I toss mine in a small glass with some dechlored water. It only takes them a few minutes to defrost.

I scoop the tank water, nuke it and then add the bloodworms. Well, I did until I got pregnant and now the smell makes it impossible to feed bloodworms. Still do brine shrimp though. :)

Frozen food goes into a small strainer, rinse under 80 degree water til thawed and cleaned- I have well water.

I just lob the frozen block in the fish tank. havent bothered defrosting in anyway since the very first block. second block onwards have gone in fozen. i knock it about for a minute with a planter stick and al lthe worms come apart defrosted and ready to eat :)

Nope - I just defrost to room temperature - drain and chuck'em in :)

I tend to chuck it in a pint glass to defrost a little, though If I am impatient I just whole lumps in frozen. I have nuked before, but that was to defrost a 1 kilo block to divide up for the fish.

lol last time i nuked my brine shrimp... i left them in alittle too long on high power... i had cooked shrimp.. lol they were steaming and smelled absolutely sick  oh well... now i just get alittle tank water in a shot glass, put the block of brine shrimp in it and stir it up with a toothpick

We have a tap that dispenses nothing but 190 degree steaming water, so I use that. Put a little in a mug, pop in a cube of frozen bloodworm/brine shrimp/whatever, swish it around a bit, then add some crushed ice from the fridge door ice dispenser to cool the whole thing down. I then use a pipette to dish it out, works like a charm :)

would that be the cold tap then? lol just kidding, i was in dallas/fort worth in february when that freeze hit and know how cold texas can get. nearly stopped me getting back home though. that would have been such a pity.
