Hey guys!! :D

I just got finished cleaning all my tanks today. (I clean all my tanks weekly) I must say I LOVE cleaning my tanks :kana: I get to bond with my fish and get to see if theres anything new going on in the tank that I dont see by just looking at the tanks.

Call me Crazy :hyper: , but I do lol!....I look forward to it. My fish love to play with the Siphon and my hands they are very curious fish and are just so playful. So they make it fun when it comes time to clean. Especially when my fish rub on my hand and swim In between my fingers it is so cute and it Tickles!!!

So thats my 2 cents. What about you, do you look forward to cleaning your tanks?

Ahmad

I like cleaning my tanks because it gives me an excuse to put my hands in my fish tanks

I especially like cleaning my 2.5 gallon betta tank. I've got a blue/red comb-tail and everytime I put my hands in his tank he always swims between my fingers and even tried to make a bubble nest in my palm once.

I think it's trying to court me

Its not something I hate to do, but at the same time it is kinda fun. Some of my angels will come up to me and start nipping at my arm and finger (and it tickles...).

My fish tanks are in my fishroom (used to be the garage), I try to do water changes weekly and do a little cleaning as I go. It's a nice "alone time" for me, as my kids usually dont want to be roped into carrying buckets so they steer clear of me at this time. Put on my fav CDs or radio station and go to town playing in the water. The best is when I'm changing out one of my saltwater tanks. If your hand is in there for any length of time, you will be approached by a cleaner shrimp, and they will climb all over your hands and arms, picking and cleaning as they go. People who aren't in the hobby just don't understand, but is is one of the coolest things ever.

i enjoy cleaning my tank and doing water changes. my fish dont really come up and inspect my hand (they do sometimes) but its still fun to do, especially if it is a hot day lol

I dunno why, but it keeps my mind in a peaceful state... When I'm stressed from work, working on the tanks also help... ;)

I don't hate it. but I don't really enjoy doing it either. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but most of my fish are scared of the gravel vac. To me it is something that has to be done so I can enjoy my fish and keep them healthy. not something I look forward to!!

I don't love it and I don't hate it.
It's just a normal chore for me to do.

I would say that i love to clean the tank because i get to play with the fishes. I do have one question though. When you clean the tank and do the water chages do you have to vacum the gravel every week or just change the water? I have 2 tanks one is a 10gallon tank with baby mollies in it and im afraid that i will suck them up with the vacum when cleaning the gravel. The other one is a 46 gallon tank with one female mollie in it. So my question is do you have to clean the gravel every week or just chage the water?

Nah..it works by agitating the gravel and the debris travels in the water (just like sperm and semen  )

I like it. It's the time you get to interact/work with your fish more than just watching them. The only thing I hate is how the water is always full of particles immediately after. Looks dirty for a little while until the filter clears it up.

I don't look forward to it. Its hard work, as my tank s in my bedroom upstairs, and the bathroom is downstairs. So I have to trample up and down the stairs to clean out my tanks carrying 4 or 5 buckets for my big one and 2 for my little one. My fish aren't that friendly. They'll follow my finger around the tank on the outside but they hide when I put my hands in.

It used to be a big ole job so I needed to put aside at least a couple of hours to do a water change. I didn't mind this as I do like to interact and fiddle with the tank setup. My other half moans if he catches me altering anything or doing anything other than feed them between water changes. Says I'm obsessed. Yeh, and...

Have just received a text from him though to say that he has made me an adaptor for my brand new python-style water changer. Blinking pain in the arse finding American threads on all the fittings! :X So I will tonight be seeing whether water changes are less backbreaking experience.
