Evening,
I’ve just done a water change and thought that I had snail eggs on a leaf and thought I’d remove the leaf to try and limit the number of snails in the tank. But, when I’ve taken it out it isn’t snail eggs, it’s dark green and bumpy (I’m a bit squeamish so I haven’t touched it) ?. The wrong side of the leaf has gone dark and looks like lettuce that has been frozen at the back of the fridge!!
Any ideas please? DD2F0D7A-2861-49B1-9462-E63714843AC0.jpeg4F37C95D-B5BF-40D3-8B4D-5700570D1B98.jpeg

looks like algae, maybe it dried out. i love your comparison.
dried algae

@Sgooosh - I was brave enough to touch it through paper towel and it felt slimy...I think it is some form of algae (although I haven’t seen any for a couple of days).

Possibly black beard algae? Hard to tell because the plant is dry.
