Hi Guys

The title says it all!!! Do you have to have Co2? I'm after some floating plants and would really like some but don't have CO2. I don't need it to grow too much or it will block all the light in my tank but I obviously don't want it to die!!

Do you think it will be ok?

Cindy x

PS anyone got any for sale if it is suitable for my tank???

I use ferts, 2.5 watts, lowish co2, and excel...haven't had much success with riccia.

riccia is very sensitive to excel and easy carbo that maybe a reason of it not doing very well.

They say the same thing about vals, but my vals have flourished while I've dosed excel. Do you think that riccia is even more sensitive? That would defnitely explain it...

my riccia was pearling before i binned it. go with java moss as it is much easier and anyone can grow it well.

tbh, riccia was easy once i had my FE going.

I use easy carbo and a low tech CO2 and my riccia is growing and pearling very nicely.

If the Riccia is floating, then you will not need CO2. It can grab all it needs from the atmosphere.

Dave.

When they say some plants are sensitive to Excel they mean if you overdose!!! If you dose as per the bottle instructions then they should be OK.

yeah, but if you spot dose for alage on something like java moss, it dosent like it, whereas if you spot dose on Echinodorus amazonicus it will be fine.
