I've recently got the shrimp bug and am increasing their numbers in my tanks but I want to make sure my tanks aren't overstocked. Should I count the shrimps and snails towards the bioload? Probably a dumb question but I thought I'd ask it anyway!

personally I do but then again my
shrimps are just over 6" each. :p

if you are talking small shrimps, I'd say no they
don't produce much waste compaired to a fish the same size.

Show off!! :D :D Nope, mine are only teensy, and I'm understocked on all tanks anyhow according to our calculator thingie, so I shall feel proud of myself and buy more shrimpies!!

Hi SarahBravo

Where did you get your Cherry Shrimps from, Ive been looking & been promised Cherry & Rhino shrimps by my LFS, but to no avail. Im willing to travel.

I get mine mail order from Trimar at www. trimar.co uk cos I can't find anywhere local. I think I need to do a run up to SirM's neck of the woods, I'm sure he said he gets ghost shrimps for about £2.50 a bag full - then he goes and feeds them to his puffers!!

Anyhow, although Trimar's website is pants, the people there and the service are great. However, it would work out expensive if you just want shrimps cos delivery is £10. But if you can be grudgingly persuaded to buy some fish as well it ain't so bad!!!

Anyhowz, I think my cherry and amano shrimps must be pretty healthy, cos i let 'em out the bag, they scurried off into the undergrowth, and I've seen not a sign of them since. No dead bodies = good sign i suppose!

I've got 8 tiger shrimps arriving Wednesday and they're going into a tank with fewer plants cos I actually want to be able to see them!
