Nice straight forward question, do nipped fins grow back or are they scars for life?

Cheers guys its good to know, some of the fins were nipped before I got them (unnoticed by myself) and theres no aggression in my tank :) hopefully they'll be back to good condition in no time.

They grow back as long as conditions are good:clean water etc.

i second this!!!

ive had nipped fins before on fish and as long as culprit is removed if becoming a problem and clean water conditions , they can grow back very quickkly!!

I also agree. Melafix will also help the fins heal.
thank god for that i was going to ask the same im breeding guppies a the moment and have a half blue that has nipped fins,
glad to hear it,

I had a red tail black shark 4" that got its body stuck in an extra filter that I had in the tank head first I tried everything but could not get it out I kept pulling but it would not budge so I gave it one hard tug and one whole side of its tail came off in my hand . Man it was horrible

I eventually got it out and it looked a bit iffy for a day or two but its tail grew back still nice and red and its back in its old aggressive way chasing everything abot the tank again.
