I'm new to all this plant stuff but really like the look of properly planted aquariums. I've dabbled with plants in my tanks with mixed success rates. I'm looking at buying a load of plants and starting over in my main tank. It's a 60L tank currently in the middle of a crisis (nasty diseased fish from LFS killed off most of my stock  ) so only has one guppy and one kuhli loach. Am planning to put a dwarf gourami, some neons and shrimp in it eventually.
My lighting I dont really know what it is, came as standard with my tank. All I can tell you is that there are two tubes, one white and one blue that are either on or off. It's pretty basic. I'm not using CO2 because I have nowhere feasible to put it out of sight at the moment but have had a look at that liquid carbon stuff to use instead. The substrate is fairly loosely packed medium sized gravel and at the moment I'm adding liquid fertilisers for the plants I have at the moment (sorry no idea what species they are). 3 are doing really well and the other one I'm beginning to suspect isn't an aquatic plant at all...

My question is this, I've complied a list of possible plants that I like and I want to know if a) they are compatible and b) if they would work in my set up.
The list is as follows:

Aponogeton crispus
vallis torta
Java fern
Red ludwigia
Hornwort
Dwarf hairgrass
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Mini amazon sword

What do people think? I'd be grateful for all help and suggestions because as I said, I'm new to plants and dont really know what i'm doing.

The wattage will be on the tubes, do have a look. Do you know how old they are? Quite unusual that there are two for a 60L tank, but all the better for your plants.

What are your water parameters?

Apongeton is a wee bit too big for the tank your size, suggest a Crypt instead.
Vallis is good.
Java fern is good, you will need some wood to attach it to.
Red Ludwigia is good, will need trimming often.
Hornwort, IME, doesn't do too well in tropical as opposed to coldwater and is quite messy, replace with Cabomba or water sprite?
Dwarf hairgrass is good, altho never did that well in gravel for me. Can be slightly picky.
Lilaeopsis needs much light and is not easy, I'd stick to chain sword instead.
Mini Amazon sword? Got a scientific name? Or do you mean the chain sword? Chain sword is good.

Post some photos of your current plants for ID?

Thanks for the reply Kat.
The tubes are under a cover that I need a screwdriver to get into and dont have one handy at the moment. I'll try and have a look at some point. I got the tank brand new in April so they're not that old at all.
Water parameters:
GH: 120ppm (dont know how to get this down)
KH: 120ppm
pH: 7.5

Have got a lovely piece of bogwood to attach java fern to and yes I think the mini sword is the same thing as the chain sword. Seen it called both but it looks like the same plant. I'll have a look at the others you've suggested thanks.

As for pictures of my existing plants, I'll have to find a camera! lol. Mine is no longer in existence.

I think your going to struggle without CO2 to be honest. Hair grass won't grow without Good fertilization and decent lighting IMO, which includes CO2 injection.

If i were you I would add a load of floating plants to cut down the light, that way you will be able to grow plants better, because when there is more lights plants photosynthesize faster, so they need more nutrients, and If nutrients are limiting then the plants will become deficient and more than likely die.
