hi, i have finally decided which plants i am going with for my first real go at a planted setup. the tank is 4ft, 216 litres, and i have about 1.25 wpg of light. it is quite full of fish (i think) and i would like to grow: echinodorus species, anubias, crypts, amazon swords, java moss, moss balls, hygrophila polysperma and vallis spiralis. i am thinking of using tpn+, easycarbo and some fert tabs (jbl i think). however, although the tank will be quite heavily planted, a lot of the plants need the tabs so should i dose the tpn+ as if i didn't have many plants? also where could i buy java moss and java fern from cheaper than £8 EACH at my lfs. and are there any other easy low light plants that are readily available or has anybody got any of these plants for sale nr hornsea?

cheers :good:

they will be okay without, but if you added TPN+ and easy carbo growth would be noticbaly better, adding a nutritious substrate to begin with will eliminate the need for root tabs.

hi, all i have is a gravel substrate which i can't change, so would all of the plants grow well with just tpn+ and fert tabs? could i dose the tpn+ as if i had only a few plants because i will also be using fert tabs?

thanks :good:
