Hi all,

Im a novice as far as fish keping goes! I have had a few neon tetras and black phantom tetras die in the last few day. I ve had a look at the remaining fish and they seem to have small bits of their tail and fins missing and they look whitish and untidy.

Would this be fin rot and is this a condition that would kill them? What would be the reccommended way of treating? And is it very contagious?

All ideas will be greatfully recieved.

Yes I would think it is fin rot and it can kill the affected fish and pass onto the other fish if not treated soon. You can treat the affected fish with antibiotics or a saltwater dip, and a water change should help aswell.
