i have a female molly that's swimming with seven other fish in the tank. When people say mollies are "tropical community" fish, does that mean they can be friendly in any community or does it mean that it needs to be a in school of mollies or else it'll get stressed out?

i would say it depends on the molly bu yes mollies are VERy friendly fish 90% of the time and might be okay with the rest of your fish but it would absolutely be nice for he/she to have one or two mollies of the same sex wit it in a comm. tank

of the same sex? did you mean of the opposite sex? As a young single male, i can tell you straight up that i'd rather sit in a room with a human girl than a human guy.

well it doesnt matter yes they will mate but i highly doubt any fry will make it if your tank is full of plants and things some may ....but i thoguht it was for community tank so it wouldnt matter and i have heard of males almost harassing the females because they try to "get it on all the time" even while the female is pregnant and although i have never heard this problem it sounds like the females dont like it

Most Mollies are fine alone. But being alone they get picked on more by other tank mates. And if you get more make sure they somewhere around 2 girls and 1 boy. Not the other way arounnd.

Community mean they get along with other species, And It would make her happier if she was with some of her own kind.
