My air pump for my 180 litre aquarium has to outlets for two tubes but I am using just one air outlet with my tank. The other air outlet is just blowing out air. Is this ok?

No - you need to connect the two holes into one using a T-Valve. Very cheap. What's the make and model of your air pump?

Marina 200, until I get a T-valve ,I will leave one outlet blowing air.

It is quite noisy to be honest, i looked in local pet shop today and couldn't see a T-valve. Do most shops sell them?

She means a T piece btw. You won't have much luck hunting for a T valve :) don't forget a non return valve though.

What I did was cut a piece of tubing from the line i'm using, pinched off the end, sealed it with duct tape and put it on the outlet I wasn't going to be using. No noise anymore!

T-Piece, T-Valve. Psh, one of the few times I will say 'I'm female and care very little for DIY tech speak' aha.
