I currently have 2, a male and a female Dwarf Gourami in my 10 gallon. I waaaanna see a bubble nest, so I have added plants and a few ornaments in there too. But no bubble nest. If I added another female in there and gave him a choice would it increase my chances of him making one, and ultimatley them breeding? Is there anything else I should be doing?

They're tank mates are one endler, 3 scissortails and 2 corys.

gouramims should be in a 20 galllon as they are renowned wife beater, there should be 3 females to 1 male. the male needs enough space to set up a teritory other wise there will be no breeding (very lucky if they do), the male will make a bubble nest out of plant matter and airbubbles coated in mucus. the male will gather up all the bubble gone astray, and the female will lay her eggs in the bubbles, after a short while the male will chase off the female and re-gather up the bubbles that have gone astray, they will repeat this numerious times untill all the eggs have been layed and fertilised.

one the fry are free swiming both parents will happily eat the fry so i recomend removing them.

this is a rough guide on breeding dwarf gouramis (i dont know if it works for others) and may not all be correct as im no expert.

hope this helps..
