Do I Need A Skimmer?

Well i'm almost home from college and that means that I have to transport my tank home. One it is home, it is there for good. No more transporting it since I am going to start getting corals. I am going to take my 10 gallon tank and put it in a 20 gallon long. Do I need a skimmer for a 20 gallon long? I hope I don't...those things are expensive....

but if you do manage to get the money its well worth having one i have a tmc skimmer and u can see the results by a mile
