ok i've read the bettas starter guide and maybe i've missed it, but nowhere does it say anything about ideal temp for a betta tank.
depends what your ambient temp is of the room the fish is going to be in, if your in a hotter climate they you wont need one but if your in the uk for instance then you will need one set between 26 - 28 degrees for when the temp drops out of the blueok i've read the bettas starter guide and maybe i've missed it, but nowhere does it say anything about ideal temp for a betta tank.

Imho it's always best to cycle a tank first before putting a fish in it. People do things differently of course, but a cycled tank is kinder to your fish.another question : if i get a 2 gal tank how long do a fishless cycle take?
