I have a 20 gallon tank with many plants and stone structures and have 4 dwarf gourami's (2 inches), 2 paradise fish (3-4 inches), and a flag cichlid (2-3 inches) and i was wonderng if my tank was underpopulated, full. or overpopulated? looking for a owners opinion.

Thanks
Opilius

id say your full as the flag ciclid and the paradise fish can become territorial, i`m sure they should be kept in a species tank but not 100%

So far the fish have been perfectly peaceful especailly the cichlid and paradise fish, I guess because they were added to the tank after the gourami's had estabished their territory. I also might have not identified the cichlid correctly because the fish store owner wasn't sure what it was but it looked like a picture of a flag cichlid I saw though so I assumed thats what it was. would a discription help?

Territorial fish don't necessarily always cause trouble, and when they are small and young, are less likely to do so. The important thing in stocking is planning for full grown fish, rather than planning on letting them die young as so many do. So do plan on them getting bigger and more territorial because that is exactly what they should do if they're normal healthy fish.

As far as IDing your fish, try doing a google image search and look at pictures of flag cichlids. If yours looks like them then theres your ID. If it doesn't then you can go from there.
