I have a 50Gal tank community tanked (see stock list in my signature below).

Im hoping I have room for 3 Yoyo loaches? I will be eventually giving all or most of my platies to a mate so I think I will have room..

Just after a 2nd opinion...

The only issue I could see is the possibility that they might bother the kuhlis, especially at dinner time. It's just a guess, though, because I've never tried it. The yoyos are very aggressive at getting the food, and kuhlis aren't so much.

You might want to consider getting more like 5 rather than 3, since they are group oriented. I have five in a 4 ft tank with odessa barbs and trichogaster gouramis and a couple other botia-type loaches. They're great fun.

hi
just remember they can get BIG there are members on this forum who have yoyo loaches that are nearly 8 inches in size, despite the fact most info on the species tells you around 4 inches max size. i was unaware of this when we got our 2 but luckily have a big enough tank for them.

Well, I've asked around and got three responses from people who successfully keep yoyos with kuhlis and there is no trouble at feeding time.

So go for it! :good:

I personally would go for 5 more kuhlis instead to make it a bigger group of kuhlis.

Well after reading your replies I decided to stop by my LFS and I picked up 3 of the smallest Yoyo's i could find.
So far they are doing really well.. Kuhli's arent getting hassled, but the platies get a hurry up if they get in the way of the Yoyo's. Even after dropping in a sinking tablet both the Yoyo and Kuhli's happily feasted together.. Im hoping it stays this way but it could just be the honeymoon period.. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for everyones feedback..

Cheers
