ive had my arrangement like that for 2 months now

no fish have died!!

any comments or anything????

i think im just crazy

I would look into a larger tank pretty quickly. That's an overstocked tank if I've ever heard of one. I'm good for pushing the stocking of a tank to the extreme at times, that's beyond what I would ever consider except for a very temporary setup.

You're gonna have to be more specific about "cichlid"... there are hundreds of kinds of cichlids. Your angels are cichlids.

I would not make it my benchmark of success that no fish have died in 2 months. Many of those fish have lifespans of 4-8 years or longer. And in that time I would like to know that they were not only alive but displaying natural behaviour and provided with an environment that is suited to their needs. Aggression issues do not necessarily show in the first two months either.

The overstocking has already been mentioned. Other issues include:

schooling fish are kept in inadequate numbers, which means they cannot enjoy natural behaviour and their health is likely to suffer in the long run

the male-female ratio of the guppies is such that you risk aggression/overstressing of the females in the longterm (you may be lucky but why take a risk?)

the cichlid- do you even know what it is, or what it's behaviour is likely to be as it matures? or even what it's needs are?

is the tank high enough to cater for the angels as they mature? and are you aware that grown angels eat neons?

do you know how big the pleco is going to get?

cichlid - full grown texas flag, yes i know about needs.

i have had that number of female to male guppies for a year, just in a smaller tank of just guppies

pleco roughly 1 foot

yes i know alot about angels, and their diet

So if you know that the pleco grows to a foot- what are you doing keeping it in a 20 gallon tank?

Oh, and I forgot- the rosy barbs also grow too big for that tank. And are schooling fish.

you definately need to get another tank,a much bigger one.listen to the advice given by everyone we cant all be wrong!!

Wait, your pleco is already one foot long? You need to get another, bigger tank now, or get rid of a lot of fish!

lol i am listening

no no my pleco is not one foot long

its maybe 3 inches

and my girlfriends dad has a 70 gallon tank

installed today, i took your advice and got a bigger tank

he has a smaller tank (40 gallon) and has 3 cichlids and took mine

thanks for all of your help

*my guppies were moved to a small holding tank before being put into the much larger tank and one gave birth*

i know have a 5 gallon with 30 guppy fry
a 70 gallon with everything that i had in my 20 gallon except my two angels
i left my 2 angels in my 20 gallon

its a huge change and i want to thank everyone for the advice

this is the first night ive had it all set up
