On young fish is it possible for fish to grow back, i have a few malawis and one had a big chunk missing out of his tail fin. It happened oven night so i guess it was sorting out some quarrels. Is it likely to grow back? He is currently only young as are the others, they are all about 2inches in length.

Cheers

Yes it will, make sure your water quality is in tip top condition then it will heal its self, add some melafix to the tank.

As Wilder said, the fin will grow back and you should take care to keep water quality excellent.

However, the fin may not grow back if it has been bit right down to the penduncle.

i always feed them frozen food as their main diet and sometimes alternate between flakes and other things as a treat.

How long should it take for the fin to fully regenerate? It is probably about 1/4 the size of his fin (probably one clean bite from another fish of the same size)

do lots of water changes and in 2 weeks the fiuns should be back in full
