i have seen pictures of fish eating cucumbers but do babie fish eat cucumber?. they are a mix of guppies and a platy. also does anyone know if normal guppies, platys, mollys neon eat cucumber

hi, yes this variety of fish do eat cucumber but i have found it easier to put the smallest amount in as when the fish have had enough they tend to just ignore it, i normally just take it out when the interest has gone
i've never fed fry on cucumber as how hard would it be to cut the pieces small enough for them to tackle it, maybe someone else will be along soon with some more advice

do u thing guppies, molly or a neon would have it i saw babie fish on it but they looked quite big

I doubt that would work; they'd have a job getting into it. I do feed mashed pea to livebearer fry, though not everyday; they need proteins too. I feed mine crushed flakes or powdered baby food (liquifry for the really small varieties of livebearer), and jellied daphnia and brineshrimp; live baby brine shrimp is a good baby food.

Yes :D

Well about the skin I guess they would have easy access if you take it off. My fish just tend to eat the middle bit. Plus the skin may have pesticides on it so it might be a good idea to cut it. Also when I microwave the cucumber it always sinks. When it looks like they have stopped eating it, you remove it. Don't leave it lying long (i.e. more than a couple of days I'd say).

Yeah or steam/boil it. Makes it softer to eat. Min or two in microwave.

i weight it down with plant weights that are spare. its fed to my cories but my platies tend to peck at it too. i just cut a slice off, stick in the weights and let it sink, the middle bit gets eaten.i never thought to feed it fo fry, i might cu a small piece of the middle bit out and try it with my fry, it cant do any harm?
also when we are on the topic of feeding fry, will they eat small live brineshrimp. ive been feeding mine on crushed flakes every time since the 1st time my platues bred, but i thought i may be a nice little change for them?
what do you think?
