Ive got an up turned empty turbo snail shell next to a closed up bubble tip anemone. Ive never known it to do this and it could be unrelated but want to make sure.

I'm not sure if they do or dont (I would imagine that it could well be fair game though). Do you have any hermit crabs though as I think these would be a more likely suspect.

Ive got two blue leg hermet crabs but they are only a fraction of the size of the snails.

Turbo snails are well-armoured giants; more than a match for most hermit crabs. It's hard to believe that an anemone would sting one, either; my turbo snails regularly eat the debris that collects around my anemone, much to the nem's annoyance.

Indeed, it takes a specialist to take down a turbo snail. What other livestock do you own?

maybe the snail died, and the rotting corpse caused a swing in parameters, stressing the anemone to close.
