i want to make my own fish tank of 55 to 100 gallons can anyone tell me how to make them and the dimensions i need for it?? what kind of filter would be suitable for it?

Id say you would probably need an external filter that says up to 100-150 gallons.

how much does the external filter cost? can i make one myself?

they cost quite a bit, auradiscus (sp?) made a cannister filter but i dont know how much l/h it does, have a look in the diy section

an external would cost around 50-100 quid it varys greatly depending on brand and such...

what is the tank going to be used for? planted, marine trops large chiclids?

its going to be home to some eastern snake necked turtles ive already got one its also going to house a couple of large cichlids or bala sharks but the turtle ive already got is a severe guts so i dont know if he will live peacefully with the balas or cichlids
