I made Secondary Filter for the 90G using a 450LPH Spare Pond Pump but its not working Very Well.

I used some Plastic Pint Cups and Cable ties to Attach to the filter but these have now collapsed in and no use.

Could i Use a Plastic Plant Pot for a Filter Foam Enclosure attached with Cable Ties - These should last a while better than the Cups idea.

Basically this

1st Coarse Filter Foam
2nd Poly Wool

And maybe some Ceramic Rings.

this is what it looks like ATM

i found that this clogged up wy to quickly.

So bish bash bosh.

1 Take a Solid Sports drinks bottle - I used an Aldi one.
2 saw off the end
3 stuff it with desired Foam
4 push ono the inlet and done

here are some pix.

Did not have any spare ceramic rings so have used York Chips. I used a Soldering iron to make the Holes in the Bottle.

Its made a huge difference to te tank and fish. No dead spots in the tank now because of the fast flow from the outlet.
Just waiting for plants to hide it with.

Gonna make something along these lines for anothe tank but using a 4000LPH pump and using a spaghetti Tube Container.

same principles as the eheim classic range, but an internal. Good idea! 1 Question, how did u get that stuff into the bottle in the first place and will it be easy to take out?

Thanks

I cut the bottle with Scissors about half way, so that i just take out the pump and lift it off. Nice an Easy.
This was my 1st real attempt at one. My next one will be better.
