So I made some DIY tank dividers, and they work perfectly... except that I made one about a cm too small.
I thought 1 cm wouldn't be enough space for them to get through. I was wrong :/

I have two males thus far, one I've had for over a year (Drifter, named after Strider [Aragorn] from Lord of the Rings), and another that I've had for a little over a month (Lan, a character from The Wheel of Time)
Anyways so my year old boy (Drifter) got into the others (Lan)'s side of the tank and sorta beat him up a little. So I'm re-making said divider, and until then Drifter is back in his old 5 gallon.

So I'm wondering what I can do to make sure Lan (And Drifter, as Lan did defend himself) don't get infections or anything. I'e added some aquarium salt, but I'm not sure if I should do more, like add an andibacterial or anything.

Just make sure the water is clean and warm. Frequent water changes if you need to. I had this happen as well. There did not seem to be any infections (I never was able to tell with one of the boys since he jumped out of the tank and kinda dried up) for my two, but I paid extra attention to water quality. I'd keep them in separate tanks until they are fully healed, though.

Keep your water warm (82F) and clean.  That should keep away any infections and help the healing process.

Aquarium Salts would maybe be the best bet, melafix is another option but you have to halve the dose with Gouramis so i would exercise caution with it with Beta's being Anabantoids too i would imagine they could be a bit sensitive to it

Cool names youve chose btw :)

I would not ever recommend a product with the ending "fix" since it contains tea tree oils and it could do harm to the betta's labyrinth organ.  I also do not recommend the use of salt with FW fish unless otherwise needed (treatment for certain parasites like ICH for example) as it really does not do much for them.

I think Tea Tree Oils come from Melaleuca alternifolia but Melafix contains extracts from Melaleuca leucadendra (or so the manufacturers safety guidelines state) but you can't be to sure i suppose :)
